Radon Inspection: Protecting Your Home and Health

Ensure Safe Indoor Air Quality with Our Radon Testing Services

Radon is a radioactive gas naturally present in the environment. It can seep into homes and pose serious health risks if left undetected. Our radon inspection services offer peace of mind by accurately measuring radon levels within the property. Identifying and mitigating elevated radon levels can significantly enhance indoor air quality and ensure the safety and well-being of occupants.

What is Radon?

Radon is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless radioactive gas that is naturally present in the environment. It is produced by the decay of uranium in soil, rock, and water and can seep into homes through cracks in the foundation, gaps in construction materials, and other entry points.

Health Risks of Radon Exposure

Exposure to high levels of radon gas over time can increase the risk of lung cancer, especially for individuals who smoke or have a history of smoking. Radon is considered the second leading cause of lung cancer after smoking and is responsible for thousands of lung cancer deaths each year.

Importance of Radon Testing

Radon testing is essential for identifying and mitigating elevated radon levels in homes. Testing is the only way to determine if radon levels are elevated, as the gas is invisible and odorless. By conducting radon inspections we help our clients make informed decisions.

Our Radon Inspection Process

Our radon inspection process involves using only NJ compliant testing methods. We place radon detectors in various locations throughout the home, typically in the lowest livable area, such as the basement. Typically the detectors are left in place for between 48 hours to a week, then mailed out to a lab for testing.

Actionable Insights and Recommendations

After completion, we provide our clients with a detailed report. Depending on the results, we may recommend solutions to mitigate elevated radon levels.
